Following up on the feedback from the review, work continued on the 1:1 artefact. With the frame of the doorway well underway, I decided to try to spend the week pushing forward with the base to understand better the way in which the frame would stand upon it.
Taking the canvas frame, sourced from the Fine Art department, as a starting point, I discussed with the workshop technicians how it would be best to alter its dimensions to fit the door frame across the centre so that it was tight to the edges, and also discussed which areas needed reinforcing with cross bracing etc. Below is the process to date.
