Having considered several typological precedent studies, the programme for the Ouseburn artists’ residence can begin to be established. By integrating themes common in schemes across Scandinavia, such as providing both affordable, private accommodation for residents as well as shared entertainment/breakout spaces between flats within the residences. Other precedent studies will also be drawn upon for integration in the scheme such as the Solidspace DNA ideas of split-level accommodation as an innovative model for the ‘new’ way of living alongside the Jalluka house for musicians and 24 hr > architecture housing for musicians implementation of eternal practice spaces for the residents.
