Continuous Line Drawings

Writer's picture: Amy F. DochertyAmy F. Docherty

Interested in the way that components of the Maxell UR 90 cassette were held together as a part of the assemblage of both the cassette itself and the assemblage between the cassette and the Coomber 393. To portray the connection between components, I began drawing the process of disassembling the cassette as a series of continuous line drawings. As the components were separated from one another each sketch, still a single line, became smaller as more components were removed, until the final few line drawings composed are of only a single component.
