Half Zip Zine Issue One

Writer's picture: Amy F. DochertyAmy F. Docherty

Drawing inspiration from personal experience and experiences of place, an interest in heritage within my architectural practice, Half Zip Zine treads the line between art and architecture referencing their common themes: a sense of place; home; materiality; industry and leisure. Following an imagined but walkable route, Issue One includes a mix of collage and written pieces allowing for a loose representation of the fluidity of experience within architecture, ridding itself of its structural form. Part of a wider series, the zine is likely to become a journal of architectural experience and exhibit the ways in which architecture can address human need. Closely linked to the theme of Belonging, the first issue of Half Zip Zine offers discussion of past and present memories of a place and the shadows of ownership visible in a city.
