PRODUCTION FILMMAKING

Writer's picture: Amy F. DochertyAmy F. Docherty

After filming for around 2 hours on Thursday, I spent a couple of days working on producing the film to be projected over our group model which combines the group members collective site analysis and areas of interest for further practice.

The assemblages of the group model are reflected in the films, including the street names; emotional borders; religions and rituals and physical borders. The film underwent several iterations of production, editing the colours, trimming clips and animating my own drawings over the top. These initial iterations are below.

Initial Experiments

Final Group Projection

The final group projection ended up being a 4 minute long looped full colour film which allowed the various buildings and places of worship and gathering to be studied alongside the borders, uses and movements through the site.

Animated Film

Alongside these group projection films, I worked on an animation over a short film which focuses on the gathering places and places of worship for each religion alongside secular spaces. This animated film is yet to be completed, around 60 more hand drawings are needed to complete the animation over the minute-long film.
