Following research into the New Orleans Community Mikveh and the collection and use of rainwater within Jewish ritualistic cleansing in general, I wished to understand ways in which the technical design and construction of the building itself could collect the water for reuse. To do this, I incorporated a box gutter behind the parapet walling which could collect rainwater to be dispersed down the inside of the walls for collection within the building and use within the pools themselves.
