To gain an understanding of the doorways and thresholds of buildings on the site, I began a 1:20 sketch study into several doorways of interest. These included Jewish households, synagogues, mosques and churches. As useful as these studies were, the elevations did not offer anything in the way of spatial information, and therefore the change between the public and private realms cannot be understood or recorded any more. To counteract this, I will next look to create models at the same scale to understand their connection to the street and interior.
