With past occupation from roman mile castles, Hadrian’s Wall, Victorian tunnels and railways, the industrial revolution also presents areas, buildings and landmarks of historic interest in the Ouseburn. Through creative re-use parts of the Ouseburn’s heritage have been preserved, however aspects of the areas past are still in need of protection, improvement and social integration. Similar to the architecture for all festivals in Gezi park, workshops, festivals and occupation’s temporary structures can show the importance of public space which serves its purpose and its people. By using public space and buildings, their importance and protection can be appreciated which allows under-developed temporary use to ensure a space’s future.
