After the interim review and the following week where 5th years visited Vienna and 6th years worked on their SSIs, we were expected to pair up with another member of the studio to develop our individual design investigations and allow them to help us to better understand the ways in which the two enquiries can develop another investigation (the third hand) as well as coming together to build an artefact which can represent both of our investigations in one piece.

I took this opportunity to pair up with Richard who has been working on developing a line of enquiry into the materials found on Coatsworth Road and the use of these across the site. The beginning of his portfolio explained how materials were selected dependant on their properties and allowed for observations around use and building styles/requirements.

Having worked on an enquiry into thresholds, I felt like utilising Richard's research into materials could offer another dimension to my own investigation, adding insight into the build up and depth of thresholds as well as the importance and meaning of materials.

Prior to speaking with Richard I had planned to complete the below to do list this week (above the line) and added to the list after discussing our work as a collaboration (below the line).
